Users fill out a short form, pay for their hosting and then wait for a welcome email to arrive with their new login details. My account was supposed to be set up and ready to use in minutes, or so their website claimed, but it was actually not ready for 12 hours after payment was made. A little misleading, but I was online within one business day.

While all the technical support responses I received from the ticket system were helpful and friendly, they were slow to arrive. During downtimes or other emergencies, Berman Hosting’s staff seemed to disappear altogether, responding days later to report that things had been fixed. Live chat is not a 24/7 service, so it’s tough to count that as a support outlet. Really, this is a mixed bag. Berman Hosting seems dreadfully understaffed and sometimes completely unavailable. When they are around though, support is knowledgeable and eager to fix what’s wrong.
