Failure, no pride in service, no customer service responsiveness.

Disadvantages: Canceled the service over a year ago, spoke to someone there, sent a letter to cancel, emailed to cancel ... THEY ARE STILL BILLING ME AFTER NOT HAVING ACCESS TO THE ACCOUNT FOR NERALY 2 YEARS.
Verdict: This company is simply a scam. Once they have your credit card number, watch out.

Broken service can only be called one thing: EPIC FAIL

Disadvantages: Everything else. Not cheap when the service fails and you don't communicate at all.
Verdict: I've been a customer of Apps4Rent for a few years, and until now had nothing much to complain about. Their website claims to have "multiple reliable data centers.. with 99.99% uptime." Except, Hurricane Sandy just revealed that that was all a lie. They have been offline for nearly 80 hours now, their "live support" (contracted call center in India) has no idea on ETA on fixing. The hurricane isn't their fault. Claiming to have multiple reliable data centers, when really they don't, has permanently damaged my business. I have lost business in the several thousands of dollars due to my not being available to confirm via email new work that was then re-assigned to another contractor. No customer support. No communication. Deceitful advertising that puts my critical business communications at risk? Shame on Apps4Rent, I hope they go out of business. Maybe a class-action lawsuit would hurry up that process a bit.

Unreliable with no DR strategy.

Advantages: Cheap and no hassles when times are easy.
Disadvantages: Shaky Infrastructure. A single storm can take out your vital IT services for days.
Verdict: I strongly recommend against using this service for any business purposes. As I write this, Exchange has been down for 2 business days. I know that you can’t control the weather (storm took out their power), but there are well accepted Disaster Recovery strategies in the industry that would prevent this length of downtime (like failover servers that are geographically separated). I notice that their sales web server seems to be using these DR strategies as it is still running without interruption from the storm.

Sales questions at Apps4Rent are taken by live chat, telephone and email. I talked with both phone and live chat reps on numerous occasions. There was no wait time at all in connecting with live chat or telephone, and all sales team members were friendly and to-the-point. Sales reps not only answered my many queries, but also directed me toward online product demos that enabled me to test services thoroughly before purchasing. Helpful!

Setup

Signing up for an account is done from Apps4Rent’s website and is a simple process. A welcome letter with account instructions arrived the same afternoon I signed up, and my account was ready to use shortly thereafter. Sadly, the welcome letter and account configuration page contained some inaccurate and outdated information, but I was able to straighten out the issues within a few minutes by chatting with a telephone operator.

Billing

Apps4Rent accepts all major credit cards. The billing department is available for assistance by phone, live chat and email, and account cancellation is done by email address. I was never billed for services I did not order and had no trouble in cancelling my account.

Pricing

Exchange 2010 prices start at $6.95/month, Sharepoint plans start at $8.95/month and virtual dedicated server hosting runs $49/month and up. Additionally, Apps4Rent offers a 10% discount for paying annually. Apps4Rent is a good value for the money.

Reliability

I had no hardware issues with Apps4Rent during a one year stay.

Help & Support

Technical support questions are answered by email, live chat and telephone. The support team is quick to address problems and very thorough in their explanations. Phone wait times can be long, especially during business hours. Basic trouble tickets are usually answered in under an hour, but more elaborate issues can take as long as 24 hours to be handled.
