Sales
Sales questions at Codero are taken by live chat, telephone and email. I first popped on live chat, where I was met by a Codero rep within a few seconds. The rep immediately asked for my email address and telephone number, in case we were disconnected, and when I stated that I preferred not to give it out, we were actually disconnected. Thinking this a fluke, I reconnected, only to have the same thing happen again after refusing to reveal my personal details. I had better luck by phone. The two phone sales team members I spoke with on the telephone were polite and knowledgeable about serving hosting, eagerly recommending server packages that would fit my needs. In short, it’s a mixed bag.

Setup
You can sign up for a new server from Codero’s website. The process is simple and easy to follow, even if you’re new to dedicated server hosting. I received an invoice by email immediately after paying, and my server was ready to use within one business day.
Billing
Codero takes all major credit cards and PayPal. I no trouble with the billing department during my stay, but the cancellation process was a bit tricky. Codero lets users cancel within seven days of their contract end, a nice touch considering most other companies require a full thirty day cancellation notice. Regardless of the improved policy, I found it impossible to cancel my services by phone or live chat. In both instances, I was told that I must cancel online through the Server Portal. Despite eventually cancelling successfully and getting confirmation of that, I was still billed for services one month after the fact. The billing department is only open during business hours Monday-Friday and they’re slow to respond to inquiries, so it took nearly six weeks and just as many phone calls for everything to get straightened out. Frustrating and could use major improvement!

Pricing
Codero has many server packages to choose from and all are highly customizable. Their cheapest server is a Pentium Dual Core 2.6 GHz machine with 2 gigabytes of memory and a 250 gigabyte hard drive, and it costs $70/month. Codero’s prices are reasonable and their offerings are exceptional.

Reliability
My Codero hosting server hardware was 100% reliable over a one year stay.
Help & Support
Codero gives customers support by phone, ticket system and live chat. For basic questions, I found Codero to be exceptional and quick to respond. When my server went down due to an unexpected network issue, however, Codero was nowhere to be found. The phone went unanswered and nobody was available by ticket system until after the network came back up.
