Advantages: Awesome Technical support!
Disadvantages: Can't think of any.
Verdict: Moved to Netaugusta a few days ago after having problems with my previous hosting provider. the transition and move was as smooth as it could get. i experienced absolutely zero downtime for my website during the move. very helpful staff and you will find the ceo haging out in the support area quite often always ready to solve any problem you face. absolutely zero downtime till now. and i must say the most friendly web host i've come across.

NetAugusta.com opened their doors for business in 2006. This Sri Lanka based web hosting company has thousands and thousands of clients, uses the SoftLayer data center and offers shared Linux-based web hosting packages.

Review

Sales

Sales support comes by telephone, live chat, email and online ticket system. I attempted to contact telephone sales support for four consecutive evenings, but nobody picked up the phone and there was no answering service of any kind on which to leave a message. I later learned phone sales support is available during business hours only, 8am-8pm. I did receive quick and thorough responses from both live chat and email. Questions by email are answered in less than 15 minutes and live chat picked up my questions immediately.

Setup

New clients can easily sign up for an account from NetAugusta’s website. The process takes just a few moments, and a billing invoice and confirmation of sale arrive in your email inbox shortly thereafter. Account setup was instant and I was up and running less than five minutes from signing up. Smooth!

Billing

NetAugusta takes all major credit cards, PayPal, checks, bank transfers and AlertPay. My hosting bill was always accurate and I found cancelling my account to be just as easy as signing up was.

Pricing

NetAugusta offers two shared web hosting plans, the smallest of which includes unlimited space and bandwidth and the ability to host one domain for $11.85 quarterly, $23.70 semi annually or $47.40 yearly. Paying by the year also earns you a free domain name. NetAugusta’s prices are low as can be and the free domain is a nice touch, but we’d love to see some actual month-to-month plans too.

Reliability

I had no hardware or network issues with NetAugusta to report. Everything worked just as it should.

Help & Support

NetAugusta support is available by telephone, live chat and a trouble ticket system. Support personnel are extremely friendly and a pleasure to work with! Trouble tickets are responded to in less than fifteen minutes on average, and phone support is usually immediately available. That’s the good. The bad is that live chat support doesn’t always seem to be actually live. On several occasions, especially late at night, I simply had no reply from live chat. To their credit, when live chat is busy or otherwise not online, clients have the option of having questions emailed to the support team from the live chat window.

My uptime monitor showed that NetAugusta maintained a 100% uptime over a one year period.

Terms of Service

The Terms of Service for NetAugusta are available on their website.  Highlights include:

  • Pirated software, warez and hacker material not allowed.
